RE: Consumers legal rights???

Maybe!! The dealer is an Agent of the MFG. Possible to the extent of gained by the dealer, Unless he has divested himself publicly (30days) Published in local paper. That is not necessarily so. You don't have to be an agent of a company to sell their products. True, But if he sold the product with a warranty it then falls under the UCC

RE: American purchasing new in Canada.????

Take delivery on the US side. You would only have to pay tax in the state that you tag it in. Free trade.

RE: Driving a gasser class A "on the floor"

I guess that I drive different than all the post I have read on this thread. I have had 2 Dodge/440's, 3-454's in gas MH's not including the 4 diesels. On the 454's the peek TQ was 2800 peek HP 3600 RPM. If I am pulling a steep grade and when I push the throttle down further and cannot gain RPM's, I am in the wrong gear. I traded the Winnies with 440 off at somewhere around 75-80 thousand miles, They rode like a Farmall M. All the 454 went over 117000 miles. I have never had to tear one down yet. I run the Diesels the same way. But no grass grows under my wheels. On the open road cruse 75+. All the 454's hauled a MC or Scooter and towed a Jeep Cherokee about 3700 lbs

Farmers Almanac 2008-2009

I just read the FA forcast winter 2008-2009. New England through TN valley, Colder with more snow than normal, Except mid Jan through mid Feb warmer than normal, Then winter returns through March. FL Northern part colder and dryer than normal. Southern FL colder and wetter than normal. All western states colder than normal including all the way to the Valley. North west WA and OR warmer and dryer than normal. MT through the northern plains colder with snow. Was going to the Valley now I don't know??? You can Google FA winter 2008-2009 and get the map and play a short video. You have to pay for the Almanac.

RE: Help Us to Understand

I don't think it is cost! In the summertime driving all day I have to run the generator all night to keep the road heat down. A 10 kw will burn 1.5 gph at 4bucks/gl = 6 dollars per hour 8 hours is almost 50 bucks. By dark most all CG pull through are taken, I am not going to unhook to park 8-10 hours in any CG. trying to get into most all cg's after dark is a task. I am 12'7" high I usually loose antennas an awning wind sensors from low hanging tree limbs. If it has rained there are always mud holes where parking. Plus $35 to 50 is too much to pay for 1 night. For those traveling in the west at the junction of I-10 and US 90 there was a Very large CG for 10 bucks per night. You could register through a drive in window find your own spot. I have counted over 200 rigs overnighters. There were plenty of truck stops to park free, Yet they were very few RV's at the truck stops. That RV park was owned by the nextdoor truck stop. Your choice free or 10 bucks. Campgrounds today don't understand that people with self contained RV's are not going to pay an exorbitant price to sleep in a CG when Walmart, Kmart, FJ, Pilot, Travel America, Cracker Barrel plus Rest areas are plentiful and much more accessible than a CG to egress and ingress.

RE: What type of coolant?

I just completed that task this weekend. I ordered the test strips from Sparten in MI. The test strips showed I needed to add nothing! I ordered 6 gallons of extended pre mix plus strips $132.64 including freight. I don't think you will need to chance anything

RE: Bad To Run Generator, and Use Shore Power At The Same Time?

Find the wire to the rear air cut it in an easy place to get to. Install a 20amp twist lock plug where the male is on the AC side, And the female on the Gen side. Male a cord to reach the shore power post same as your MH cord. The front will run off the 30 amp and the rear AC will run off the 15 or 20 amp on the shore post. If you want both off the Gen put the 2 plugs back together

RE: I-10 Through Houston

I go the valley (Donna)every year. I have my last trip through Houston 3 year ago. It impossible to follow someone at a safe distance they will cut in front of you then jam their brakes on. One can go from 60 to a dead stop in matter of seconds. I have a 3 axle MH and a toad that puts me in the commercial category(5axles) it cost me 28 bucks for the Sam Houston Parkway but, It is money well spent. I blew a right front tire just north of I-10 on 59 some motorist called 911 here came the Fire, Rescue, Sheriff, City police and Hasmat. The city of Houston sent me a bill for 875 bucks. Which I would not pay. I called Beasley tire. They wanted me towed off 59 to the tire place before installing a new tire and wheel. AVOID HOUSTON at any expence

RE: Allison won't go into gear (sometimes)

Check your engine idle speed. If your engine is running too fast it will not go into any gear.

RE: Is My Convertor Charging My Batteries?

Pull 1 of the cables off the battery post and read the converter output voltage from the cables. 6.8vdc is fully charged But, You could have a open cell under load.

RE: Rear Camera Replacement Access Point On Monaco Knight

There is NO way to get to it from the inside. The cable is in the drivers side section where the roof and wall join. It runs display up the left side to the roof then back. It will look it is laying on the wood floor above the engine. If you have inside and mirror cameras do they work? I have found the 5 pin din plug on the pig tale of the rear camera to be at fault. I am on my third one now, I found the problem to be the cable was not tied up and the plug and camera had to support the weight of the free swinging cable. Have someone watch the monitor while you twist the 2 plugs at the camera. I found my problem to be there. I bend the male pins slightly with a pair on needle nose pliers. then taped the plugs together then suppored it from the clearance lights screws. No problem since

RE: Another Transynd Question

My manual sates change tranny with transynd at 5000 miles w/filter, Next change 75000 no time involved. Why would one want to change at 25000? Check that again. I think you will find that it says to change one of the two filters at 5,000 miles. not the fluid - and now that was for units without the new super duper filters that no longer even require the 5k filter change. I don't think so. My unit was back at the factory in wakarusa IN they had to take it to Allison to change the fluid and internal filter $286.00 My unit only has an internal filter. Allison noted in the maintenance log next due at 75000 miles.

RE: Speedometer

If you believe your GPS is that accurate for SPEED go to a large parking lot and drive in a circle for at least one mile I think you will change your mind. Accuracy is a little different our GPS has a built in error except for the US Military. Civilian use of GPS for aircraft approaches for weather landings(IFR) has to have a ground support unit on the field to make the lat and lon corrections to the onboard GPS. The on board GPS cost several thousand dollars each. I don't think that a automotive or hand held Garmin or a Tom Tom for 2-3 hundred bucks will be accurate within 3-4 feet as posted above. But, They are a good tool for navigating in cities and town'sWell, yes & no. Military & civilian GPS is the same accuracy since SA (selective availability) has been turned off some years ago. But I think John meant meters not 6 feet. Aircraft approaches are more accurate because of WAAS and when LAAS is widely available even more accurate. ------------------------------------------------------------------- You are correct!! I still don't think that a tom tom is as accurate. I have compaired GPS with ILS on approach I have never found a GPS as accurate
